Gifts of Grain – A Helping Harvest

When you plant a seed, results don’t happen overnight. But, with the right support, it grows strong roots and produces a healthy harvest.

Did you know that your harvest, when donated and nurtured by the Starved Rock Country Community Foundation, can continue to make a difference in our community for generations?

A gift of grain is a simple, effective way to make a lasting difference. That gift can add to or establish a charitable endowment fund that will continue to grown and give back to causes that matter to you.

You can start a fund in your family’s name, honor a loved one, support a specific nonprofit or benefit charitable causes in our community. You can also choose to donate the value of your grain to an existing fund with the SRCCF. There are so many ways to use your harvest to make a difference for generations.

When you gift grain, you avoid including the sale of the grain in your income. That can mean a significant self-employment tax, federal income tax and state income tax savings.

If you are interested in making a gift of grain to support good work or leave a legacy, please contact us for instructions to ensure you receive the intended tax benefits.
